Raja Ampat is at the furtherest East point of Indonesia and cannot be reached with direct flights form Bali or Jakarta.
Most flights to its gateway town, Sorong, start from Makassar in Sulawesi. Once guests have reached Sorong, further arrangements must have been made since the town does not provide for tourism opportunities.
WHERE TO STAY
Most of Raja Ampat is only attainable via cruise boats or liveabords for diving. Several Indonesian operators offer cruises in Raja Ampat or diving trips in the area, they can be found online.
In recent years some resorts on small islands or on stilts have started operating. Book ahead for them to collect you on your arrival in Sorong.
